Deb Kirk shares this with us~
I expect to be taking a couple of
private workshops in late spring with Ron Van Ostrand, a master Roycroft
artisan. (http://www.ronvano.com/ and http://www.roycroftcampuscorporation.com/)
I took one of his basic metalsmithing courses a few years ago to
learn the basics of chasing and repousse. It's taken me a lot of practice
since then, and lots of sore fingers, but I'm finally producing some pieces I'm
happy with.
And besides the boxes shown here, there are so many other ways
to use chased metal - in jewellery, enamelled pieces, clock faces, wall
pieces, tableware.... the possibilities are endless.
